Enhanced Wakes Survey - RESULTS now available

The Enhanced Wakes Survey was sent to 641 homes in the Whitewater-Rice Lakes Management District in September, 2024. Responses were due by October 31. The overall response rate was 33% (211 surveys submitted), with 44% for riparian owners and 14% for non-riparian owners.

The Wakes and Shoreline Erosion Team of the Whitewater-Rice Lakes Management District created this survey to understand the impact of enhanced wakes on the safety and enjoyment of our lakes and the effectiveness of the District's Own Your Wake campaign over the past few summers.

The State is exploring possible regulations for watercraft that produce enhanced wakes, and the Lake Management District will be providing this feedback to our governmental and elected officials.
